How long a file takes to transfer at a given connection speed.

Runs on your device · nothing is uploaded

Uses decimal units (1 GB = 1,000 MB). Real transfers are usually 10 to 20% slower because of protocol overhead.

Bits and bytes

Connection speeds are sold in bits per second (Mbps), but file sizes are shown in bytes (MB). There are 8 bits in a byte, so a 100 Mbps line moves at most about 12.5 MB per second. Expect real transfers to be a little slower because of protocol overhead, Wi-Fi conditions and the server at the other end.
