Is this link safe? checker

Check a suspicious link for common phishing warning signs, without opening it.

Runs on your device · nothing is uploaded

This tool only reads the text of the link on your device. It never opens or visits the link, and nothing is sent anywhere. A link with no warning signs can still be dangerous, so always think about who sent it and why.

    What it checks

Scammers use links that look trustworthy at a glance. This tool looks for the warning signs in the address itself: no encryption, raw IP addresses, look-alike characters (punycode), a brand name placed in the wrong part of the address, link shorteners that hide the destination, unusual domain endings, hidden usernames with @, and words such as "verify" or "login" used to create urgency.

    How to read a link

The part that matters is the registered domain: the name just before the ending, such as paypal.com in https://www.paypal.com/signin. In https://paypal.com.secure-login.example.xyz, the real domain is example.xyz, not PayPal.

    Before you click

    • Did you expect this message? Does it create urgency or fear?
    • Can you reach the same page by typing the company's address yourself or using its app?
    • Never enter passwords, codes or card details after following a link in an unexpected message.
